The farm could not operate with out the help from our volunteers. Children 12 and up can volunteer on their own. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent when volunteering at the farm . All volunteers 12 and over must complete a criminal record check. These forms can be picked up at the farm.

Volunteer Extraordinaire

All The volunteers at the farm have been extremely helpful, without their assistance the farm would not operate as smoothly or be as attractive as it is today. The farm staff (aka Zoo Crew) would like to thank all volunteers past and present for all their hard work. We wish to recongize Mrs. D as our volunteer extraordinaire. She has dedicated countless hours of work, over the past 18 years. Her love for the animals and the farm is evident in everything she does. Mrs. D is best known for her warm smile, witty sense of humour and her gentle way. She is loved by the animals who eagerly await their afternoon 'treat'. Mrs. D is our longest standing volunteer and her many contributions to the farm is unparalleled. Saying 'thank you' just doesn't seem enough!

Thank you Mrs D

Volunteer Testimonials

I first began volunteering at the farm when I was about 13. I have always loved animals, and the farm provided me with a place to be with them, look after them and love them. I volunteered there for several years, and then took some years off. When my first child, Ravana, was about three, we started visiting the farm so regularly, that they suggested we start volunteering there together. So we did! This continued right through my second pregnancy, thus my son, Aravan, has been going to the farm since before he was born, then in a sling, then on his own power. Seven years later we are still volunteering, right now waiting for the birth of the next batch of baby guinea pigs!
We have found the farm to be such a great part of our lives. We have witnessed births, assisted in births, cried when an animal dies, and laughed when they do something funny. We love animals, and having the farm to come and volunteer at has enabled all of us to be educated in caring for animals, responsibility and appreciating life. I really appreciate all that the Koenders have done over many years to make such a great place possible for my family, and countless others!
